Filming Day 2 - We Tried

Today we went out to film at Alexandra Palace for the end of our music video but the trains were all delayed and cancelled so we couldn't film anything more than some shots at the train station.

Learning new editing software at the BFI

I've been taking part in a film-making course at the BFI and part of that course has been learning how to use Adobe Premiere Pro. I enjoyed learning how to use it as it is a more powerful editing tool than iMovie, which will hopefully allow us to have more control over our finished media product. Below is an example of some of the work we were doing at the BFI.

I also learnt how to use Adobe After Effects but I don't expect we will have to use that in our music video.

Planning - Ruby's side of the story

Today we've been planning how the story of the character I will be playing, who gets kicked out of her home for being lgb. We are going to show this by having my character watch popular lgbt+ webseries Carmilla. The clip is below.

Storyboard to the song

Here is a video of our storyboard set to the music we have chosen. This has allowed us to see how the shots work with the music. This is just a rough version of what the final shots and video will look like as I have found that it is useful to leave some time to come up with shots to use on the day of shooting, as there might be an element of the location and lighting that wasn't there on the rekkie.
